NABJ/News Corporation High School Scholarship--Deadline Extended to April 1, 2012

WASHINGTON, DC (March 14, 2012) – The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is pleased to announce the deadline for the News Corporation High School Scholarship has been extended to April 1, 2012 (11:59 pm EST).

This scholarship is open to any NABJ graduating high school senior member who has been accepted to an accredited four-year college or university, and who plans to major in journalism, communications and/or digital media. The scholarship grant will be awarded to two students in the amount of $2,500 each.

"We are committed to helping our high school members pursue higher education to gain the skills they need to succeed in the media industry,” said NABJ President Gregory Lee, Jr. "NABJ is proud to partner with the News Corporation and we strongly encourage our high school senior members to apply for this great opportunity.”

All applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, express financial need, and demonstrate leadership in his or her community.
