Dear NABJFamily,
We need each other more than ever before.Social distancing does not mean social silence. Please stay connected with each other. I am hungry for conversation with my NABJ family, and welcome every phone call, text, Skype, Zoom, and FaceTime. I want to thank those who reached out just to say hello, catch up or share a prayer.Together, we will survive. We have to.
The Big Question:ConventionStatus
The July convention dates are still on, but we may have to adjust as coronavirus factors dictate our actions. We are not alone when it comes to organizations needing to eventually make decisions about their conferences, conventions and other events (such as the Democratic National Convention on July 13, one day after our convention; the Republican National Convention on August 24; and the Essence Festival on July 1.)We will make a decision based on what is in the best interest of our members and partners.
Keep in mind, if necessary, the local, state or federal government could place restrictions on the number of people who can gather at one event. Right now, D.C. has attendance restrictions through March 30, but that could be extended monthly as events unfold in the fight against this virus. We will do our best to keep you informed. At this point, wed o not have partners scaling back or pulling resources. We’ll let you know if a significant move in that direction begins.
NABJ Coronavirus Webinars
I want to thank all of you who have been engaged in the dissemination of
our notices and resources regarding NABJ events, tips regarding self-care, and workplace challenges and solutions associated with coronavirus. Our recent webinar and its companion Twitter

We will continue to do the things that we can control, such as holding additional webinars to assist you during this time (see below for upcoming opportunities). Please continue to refer people to our website and social media portals that have official NABJ information designed to help you navigate through the crisis and keep you up-to-date about NABJ happenings.
In the meantime, we want to continue to hear from you. Please take a minute to answer a handful of questions at this link or below to help us produce and schedule programming designed to help you during the crisis. Your responses may help you and others.
Stay safe!
