Dear NABJ Members:

I hope that this note finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy or recovering well. If your circle has been touched by the coronavirus, I pray for the best outcome possible.

As an NABJ member, you have access to many benefits. One of the most important benefits is the opportunity to help elect our association's leadership that will ensure its future path.

NABJ election season is official as of this morning. The NABJ Elections Committee has certified candidates for the Board of Directors. As we monitor the developments of COVID-19, we will keep members and chapters informed of any online campaigning options, such as webinars, that may need to take place based on social distancing requirements.

As you will see below, there are two contested races and two seats that have candidates running unopposed. Three seats have no candidates and the President may appoint officers to those seats.

Note: Five submissions were rejected because they were received by NABJ after the deadline or the applicant's membership was not up-to-date.

Friday, May 1, is the deadline for potential voters to have their NABJ membership current and in good standing if they want to cast ballots. This coincides with the deadline to register for theconventionwithout paying the higher in-person rate.

Eligible members may cast ballots electronically from 9 a.m. ET, Monday, June 1 through 5 p.m. ET on Election Day, Friday, July 10.

Members have found online voting to be a helpful alternative to casting ballots in person, particularly if an assignment or some other circumstance keeps them away from the convention. The results of the election will be announced at the convention and shared on the NABJ website shortly after polls close.
