2019 Multicultural Media Correspondents Association Dinner

 

Premier Washington, DC Gala to Salute “The Fly Jock” Tom Joyner, 

Rep. Val Demings (D-FL), Journalist Eun Yang and Parker Morse 

 

Tuesday, July 9, National Press Club, Washington, DC

 

 WHAT:  The Multicultural Media Correspondents Association (MMCA), a national organization leading the call to increase diversity in media, will host its 4th annual correspondents’ dinner in Washington, DC. Hosted by actresses and comedians. NABJ is a partner for this year's activities. 

 

Sherri Shepherd and Kym Whitley, the exclusive, invitation only gala is attended by media influencers, policymakers, executives, corporate and advocacy organization allies and Hollywood VIPs. The event will honor the accomplishments of media industry legends and luminaries of color, including “The Fly Jock” Tom Joyner, news anchor Eun Yang, and executive Parker Morse, MMCA Founder and President, David Morgan.  Congresswoman Val Demings(D-FL.) will also be honored for her work to increase media diversity.  

 

MMCA will also host its inaugural Media Diversity Innovation Summit entitled “Taking Control of the Media Diversity Crisis”at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center on Thursday, July 10th.  Congresswoman Val Demings (D-FL), Chair of the Media Diversity Congressional Braintrust, is honorary host.
