NABJ ELECTION UPDATE

 

Special Election for Media-Related Representative

 

Due to the tie in the Media-Related Representative race, the NABJ Board approved the following for a revote Special Election:

Beginning Monday, Aug. 13 at noon, a "revote" Special Election will begin between the two tied candidates for Media-Related Representative. The 433 voters eligible for this race will be notified that morning that voting will open at noon.  Voting for this position will then end at noon on Monday, Aug. 20. The 433 voters eligible for this race will be notified the Friday prior (Aug. 17) that voting will end at noon on Monday.

 

The NABJ membership will be notified as soon as the election result is certified on Monday, Aug. 20.

Campaigning is now open for the Media-Related Representative position for the NABJ Board of Directors 2018-20, to fill the current open spot on the board.


On behalf of the NABJ Election Committee, the following is a recap of results of this year's General Election. 

CANDIDATE FOR VICE PRESIDENT-PRINT - Eligible voters: 1,848

Marlon A. Walker, Reporter II, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta, GA 360 votes

CANDIDATE FOR TREASURER - Eligible voters: 1,848

Gregory Morrison, Executive Producer, Griotworks/Bumper2Bumper TV, Atlanta, GA 372 votes

CANDIDATE FOR PARLIAMENTARIAN - Eligible voters: 1,848

·  Khorri Atkinson, News Reporter, AXIOS, Arlington, VA 265 votes

·  Ernest Owens, LGBTQ Editor and Columnist, Philadelphia Magazine, Philadelphia, PA 121 votes
