Comcast Newsmakers is seeking youthful but experienced on-air talent for a series of election-related interviews and cablecast programs during the 2012 presidential election cycle.  Successful candidates will have a thorough knowledge of and genuine interest in the political process; experience interacting with high profile newsmakers and candidates for public office (including but not limited to on-camera interviewing); a distinct sense of the political wants/needs of first-time voters including demonstrated knowledge of social media.  This is a freelance/temporary position.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct on-camera interviews with high-level political newsmakers in a variety of settings (town hall, one-on-one, press conference, etc.)
  • Work with production team to develop questions and other editorial considerations for Comcast Newsmakers young-voter targeted programming.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years on-camera experience in a news/political environment
  • Thorough knowledge of the presidential campaign cycle – key players, states, issues, etc.  
  • Comfortable interacting with and questioning national newsmakers
  • Comfortable facilitating "town hall” style meetings with national newsmakers and a live audience


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing and able to travel to a variety of locations throughout campaign cycle-Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
