"Enterprise"
reporting is highly desirable in media companies and local entities around the
country as news managers look for exclusive stories their competitors are
missing.
Most news organizations report on
voter turnout but not everyone’s story is told. While
young voters made headlines for turning out in record numbers during the 2008
presidential election, a key group that boosted that increase went
underreported: black youth. Blacks under 35 years of age represented nearly
half of the black electorate during the 2008 presidential election and voter
turnout in total this year showed some dramatic differences from two years ago.
What role did Black youth play
in the current political landscape? What happened in 2008? How will the Black
youth vote impact the next presidential election in 2012?

2008
and Beyond is a national survey conducted by the Mobilization and
Change Project at the University of Chicago which explores the impact of the 2008
presidential election and examines how attitudes about government, racial
equality, important policy issues have changed, or not, since the 2008
election.
The
Black Youth Project is a national research
project, launched in 2003, that examines the attitudes,
resources, and culture of African American youth ages 15 to 25, explores how
these factors and others influence their decision-making, norms, and behavior
in critical domains such as sex, health, and politics.
