Amount of the Award: $2,500

Eligibility Criteria

Competition for the scholarship is open to any NABJ student member who is currently attending an accredited four-year university. Students must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student who:

  • Majors in journalism (print, broadcast)
  • Maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Demonstrates community service

    Additional Criteria

  • To be considered and to receive a scholarship, the applicant must be a member of NABJ.
  • Previous NABJ scholarship winners are not eligible
  • The grant is awarded directly to the recipients college or university

    Scholarships will be awarded upon proof of enrollment. The winner will be formally recognized on the NABJ Web site and in the convention program book.

    The recipient of this program will be asked to attend the Evening with an Angel on a Jazz Note, held in October in Baltimore, which is the annual fundraiser for this scholarship.
