NABJ Gannett Foundation Al Neuharth Award for Innovation in Investigative Journalism recognizes
groundbreaking journalists in their quest to help communities understand and
address important issues through creativity and the use of digital tools.
looking for innovative journalists with a collection of interactive new tools
that have creatively addressed community issues on any digital medium. All entries must consist of a single
story, series, or package on a single subject.
PRIZE / ENTRY CRITERIA
$5,000 will be awarded to the winning candidate. Entries must be in the English language and published or aired between January
– December 2015. Spot news, news
analysis, editorials, columns and features are all eligible. Photography
entries are accepted for black and white or color photojournalism work
published. Student work is not eligible. For team submissions, name a primary
contact as the entrant. This person must have played a lead or key role in the
submitted work. You must be a current NABJ full member to submit an entry for
the Gannett Foundation Award.
Entries are based on the quality of work submitted.
The winner will be notified in advance of the NABJ National Convention and the
award will be presented at the Convention. The entrant need not be present to win.
