Dave Jordan, a 20-year television news veteran, is an investigative reporter at WSPA-TV in Spartanburg, S.C. Jordan has been a NABJ member for two decades and has been a member of NABJ’s New York, Kansas City and New Orleans chapters.
1996 Undergraduate: Long Island University, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Dave Jordan has worked for television stations in Kansas City (KCTV-TV) Savannah (WJCL-TV/WTGS-TV), Little Rock (KARK-TV), Oklahoma City (KWTV-TV) and New Orleans (WNGO-TV) where he’s covered politics, crime and features. He's been nominated twice for an Emmy and received awards from the Associated Press as well as the Society of Professional Journalists.
Jordan has uncovered corruption in local government and reported on the misdeeds of public officials for the past 20 years. He brings a wealth of journalism experience to NABJ and a knack for getting to the bottom of things. Jordan will bring his investigative skills to the position of parliamentarian and assist NABJ with its advocacy efforts, which are sorely needed. In addition, Jordan will maintain order at meetings, ensuring they run smoothly and effectively, and will lead an active Bylaws Committee to ensure the association’s documents are effective and up to date.
I’d like your vote to become NABJ parliamentarian. If elected, I will ensure that the NABJ Constitution and Operating Procedures are enforced, that NABJ Board Meetings run efficiently under Roberts Rules of Order and that chapters remain compliant under NABJ rules and regulations. I’m also passionate about advocacy and believe NABJ can improve its efforts. To that end, I will work with the board and staff to step up the association’s advocacy and action. In addition, I’ll directly engage with chapter leaders so that they are reaping the benefits of chapter affiliation.
