 IMPORTANT: Hotel Pirate Notification

Dear NABJ Members:

It has been brought to our attention there is a fraudulent organization trying to pirate the NABJ Hotel Block in Minneapolis. This same group has done a similar scam with other organizations under the premise of cheaper rooms.

We have taken action. If you've been contacted by them let NABJ know immediately.

How the scam works. The poacher/travel agents/destination manager/wholesalers will tell you they are agents for NABJ. They may insist you register with them immediately to get the preferred rate. Or they may tell you the reserved room block is sold out. Do not be fooled.

Past practices have indicated when you arrive reservations are non existent, the hotel they have put you in may be far away from the main hotel, or they may cancel your reservation with hefty fees.

Please alert Veronique Dodson at NABJ if you have been victimized or solicited.

Darryl Matthews, Sr., NABJ Executive Director
Rob Hicks, 2015 NABJ Convention Chairman
