Tonyaa Weathersbee, a columnist with The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, Fla. and BlackAmericaWeb.com, won her 10th award for commentary in her eight years. She placed third place for serious commentary in the South Florida Society of Professional Journalists' 2005 Sunshine State Awards Contest. Tonyaa's past awards also include a 2000 first place award for commentary in the NABJ Salute to Excellence Contest, and being inducted into the NABJ Region 4 Hall of Fame in 2005.
