NABJ Sports Task Force Elects New Board at Annual Conference
Chairman Greg Lee unanimously re-elected for second term; board includes representatives from print, broadcast and online media
The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Sports Task Force elected a new board during the 32nd Annual Convention and Career Fair held in Las Vegas earlier this month. The Sports Task Force, which is comprised of approximately 200 members, is a division of NABJ which boasts more than 3,000 members worldwide. The Sports Task Force unanimously re-elected Greg Lee, assistant sports editor of the Boston Globe, as chairman and met his re-election with a standing ovation for his previous tenure leading the board. Lee, as well as the other newly elected officers of the Sports Task Force board, will serve for a two-year term.
"I am very honored that the Sports Task Force thought enough of me to lead this group again, said Greg Lee. We have more work to do, especially on the advocacy front. We need to make sure our members have the opportunity not only to get jobs, but those that have influence or have a chance to great upward mobility."
