Washington, DC (September 27, 2011) --The National Association of Black Journalists congratulates Lester Holt on being named the principal anchor of "Dateline NBC." Mr. Holt is a longtime NABJ member and supporter.
In his new duties, he will anchor Dateline while continuing to work as a correspondent on the program. He will remain the weekend anchor of the "NBC Nightly News" and the co-anchor of the weekend edition of "Today."
NABJ would also like to commend NBC for promoting Mr. Holt, who is one of only a handful of Black journalists to sit on the anchor desk at a major broadcast network.
