WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 12, 2015) - The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) congratulates member Nima Ahmed on her promotion to Director of Programming at CNN/US.
Ahmed had most recently served as the executive producer of "Morning Express with Robin Meade" HLN's six-hour flagship morning news programming.
"Nima is a talented and skilled producer. She has keen editorial insight, energy, enthusiasm and passion," said NABJ President Bob Butler. "She is a highly regarded and respected leader because of her ability to inspire and challenge the teams she leads, while helping to deliver quality content to audiences across platforms delivered in ways which are honest, compelling, and personal."
Ahemd is a veteran of NABJ's Executive Suite programming which was designed as an exclusive series of all-day workshops led by news and corporate executives to offer advanced management training, guidance, support and mentoring.
NABJ applauds CNN on their selection of a fine journalist for this leadership role, and wish Ms. Ahmed continued success.
An advocacy group established in 1975 in Washington, D.C., NABJ is the largest organization for journalists of color in the nation, and provides career development as well as educational and other support to its members worldwide.
