On Monday, February 25, 2013, NABJ leadership met with Jeff Zucker, President of CNN Worldwide. CNN and NABJ have a standing quarterly meeting that precedes CNN's current leadership team.
This particular meeting was an opportunity for NABJ to speak with Mr. Zucker and to learn more about his vision for the network. We had a productive discussion on how CNN can partner with NABJ to achieve our common objective of promoting a diverse newsroom, in particular within the management ranks, where our industry overall is lacking in diversity.
While I am not at liberty to share more specific items of our meeting, please understand that your leadership is working behind the scenes representing the interests of the largest minority journalism organization in the nation.
NABJ will continue to be an organization that works to ensure that newsrooms across the country reflect the diversity of our viewers, listeners, and readers.
Yours in Service,
Gregory Lee, Jr. President
