Submit an NABJ Media Institute Proposal

MAKE NABJ WORK FOR YOU!

The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) issues a call for Media Institute program proposals. NABJ asks members to submit their ideas for Fall 2008 through Summer 2009 Media Institute workshops by March 15, 2008.

The 2007 schedule was an exceptional year for the Media Institute with five workshops aimed at improving the professional skills of NABJ members. Attendees gave rave reviews to programs like Business Reporting sponsored by Bloomberg News, Little Rock Nine Media Symposium and Political, the NABJ Watergate Conference on political and Congressional Reporting sponsored by National Journal and Freddie Mac.

NABJ Members asked for professional development beyond the national convention, and we plan to offer more programs than ever in a variety of fields, said Media Institute Committee Chairperson and NABJ Vice-President of Broadcast Kathy Times. "This is the time to submit those awesome ideas that will help young journalists and veterans grow in a competitive field."

The Media Institute Committee is especially seeking creative proposals for multimedia, entrepreneurship and management training and looks forward to hearing from associate members and educators. Keep online training in mind! Virtual classroom instruction is an option.

To have your ideas considered, submit a completed form outlining the program details to the Media Institute Committee.

The NABJ Media Institute provides professional development, technical training and entrepreneurial guidance for black journalists.

NABJ is an organization of 3,300 journalists, students and media-related professionals. It provides quality programs and services to and advocates on behalf of black journalists worldwide.
