CNN's first ever "Learn by Doing" Digital Media Workshop hosted by CNN.com
Five NABJ Fellows will join members of AAJA, NAHJ, SAJA, NLGJA & NAJA for an extraordinary opportunity to perform digital journalism with the staff and leadership at CNN.com. (Travel & Lodging will be provided)
Learn the fundamentals of telling, putting together, publishing and selling the story through a digital format.
Application Deadline: March 10, 2008
Eligibility:
- Professional or freelance* journalist who has worked in broadcast, print, or digital media for a min. 5 yrs
- On-line/digital platform experience or a proven interest in digital media
- Must be a current professional member of NABJ
Application:
- Copy of current resume
- Answer the following question in 400 words or less: "How will I benefit from actively participating in the CNN Digital Media Workshop"?
- All application materials must be submitted via email to CNNDIVERSITY@turner.com by Monday, March 10, 2008
Timeline:
- Monday, March 10, 2008: Applications Due (only via email: cnndiversity@turner.com)
- Wednesday, March 19, 2008: Acceptances Announced (selections determined by CNN with recommendations from organizations)
- Friday, March 28, 2008: Confirm Attendance
- Wednesday, April 16, 2008: Workshop Materials Sent to Attendees
*Freelance defined as majority of income is garnered from journalism

Telling the Story
Teams assemble with the facts and the assets
A Mosaic and a Live coverage plan are mapped out
Putting it Together
As the first parts of the coverage are put together, some of the reporters gather final details
Publishing the Story
Story publishes on CNN.com
