NABJ Seeks Summer Interns
Position: Program Assistant (Summer Intern) Responsibilities: An NABJ Program Assistant (P.A.) plays a key role in the implementation of programs at the National Association of Black Journalists in Adelphi, Maryland. In the office, they assist in the coordination and production of convention workshops, plenary sessions and awards programs at the national convention - contacting print, online and broadcast journalism organizations for production materials necessary for convention producers. The candidate is also involved within the coordination of the NABJ National Media Awards, including its organization, judging and production. Onsite at the national convention and career fair, the candidate plays a crucial role with producers in awards distribution, session logistics and on-going development of the convention. Program Assistant also participates in additional duties as assigned, including necessary administrative and member service functions of the convention. Interns will attend the UNITY: Journalists of Color Convention in Chicago, July 23 – 27. Candidate must be a current or recent undergraduate at an accredited college/university. Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, intermediate Microsoft Office experience, can work in a high-impact environment, and possess a professional office demeanor.
