NABJ Broadcast Short Course

North Carolina A&T State University

The NABJ Student Broadcast Short Course is aimed at encouraging more African American journalism students to pursue television management as a career. The project will give students access to African Americans who currently work as news directors, producers, writers, assignment editors, directors and the like, at some of the top television stations in the country, as well as give them hands-on experience and a practical understanding of what these jobs entail.

QUALIFICATIONS

The seminar will take place on the campus of North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro, North Carolina March 12-15, 2008. The seminar is open to African American juniors and seniors enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university. Students must have a declared major in broadcast journalism or communication and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5. You must attach your latest college transcript and a resume with this application. Applications are due January 14, 2008.

Students who want to participate in this program will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the seminar as well as any and all expenses incurred during the seminar. Housing and meals will be provided to selected students who live more than 60 miles away from the campus. Selected students must be committed to participate for the entire program.
