NABJ Students and the Digital
Journalism Task Force will hold a Google Hangout: What It Takes: Getting Those Great Internships. The one-hour
Hangout is on Tuesday, September 17 at Eastern time. Our panelists are:
Marissa Evans graduated from the Diederich College of Communication
at Marquette University in Milwaukee in May 2013. She is currently a web
reporting fellow with Kaiser Health News in Washington, D.C. Denise Sawyer joined the WBOC newsroom in January of 2013 as a
video journalist covering Ocean City, Md. She graduated from Howard
University's School of Communications in December 2012. Gerrick D. Kennedy is an award-winning music writer for The Los
Angeles Times. He earned a BA in Journalism from The Ohio State
University in 2009. In 2012, he was named Emerging Journalist of the
Year by NABJ. Benet Wilson, Vice Chair of Education with NABJ Digital, will lead the discussion.
The panelists will talk about
their internships and how they got them. Then we'll open it up to your
questions. The session will be recorded in case you can't join us live.
As technology is enhancing journalism and
transforming the media landscape, journalists must adapt and use new tools in
order to survive and thrive. The NABJ Digital Journalism Task Force is
