WHAT: DC-NABJ Monthly Membership Meeting Guest Speaker: Detroit’s Former Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick
The
former mayor has agreed to a no-holds-barred question and answer
session
with members of the Detroit Chapter of the National Association of Black
Journalists. The unprecedented event with Kilpatrick comes
as he prepares for his next legal fight, in federal court, next month. The ex-mayor in an exclusive, one-on-one
interview with DC-NABJ President and WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas said,
"This is the first time I’ve done anything like this since leaving Detroit
almost four years ago.” Kilpatrick, who
now lives in the Dallas area, added, "I’ve taken an incredible butt whipping
but I’ve also been humbled by this experience enough to know that in order to
continue to move forward, there are some things you must address.”
