NABJ and NAHJ Students will hold a Google Hangout: HOW TO LAND YOUR FIRST REPORTER JOB. The one-hour Hangout is on Wednesday, October 30
at 9:00-10:00 PM Eastern time. Our panelists are:
Justin
Madden, a digital breaking news reporter at Lexington Herald-Leader. He
graduated in May 2013 from the Department of Mass Communication at
Grambling State University, where he served as editor-in-chief for The
Gramblinite.
Melaine Eversley, reporter at USA Today's Breaking News Desk in New York, NY.
Carlos
Sanchez, executive editor at The Monitor in McAllen, Texas.
Rebecca
Aguilar, Vice President of Online at the National Association of
Hispanic Journalists and Freelance Emmy-award winning journalist will
lead the discussion.
The
panelists will talk about their journalism experiences and will teach
students how to land their first journalism job. Then we'll open it up
to your questions. The session will go
live on Youtube and recorded in case you can't join us live.
This Google Hangout is presented by NABJ and NAHJ Student Representatives: Khorri Atkinson and Olmar Vanegas.
