Program Schedule

NABJ's 6th Annual Media Institute on Health: Health Policy and Health Inequities is the only conference of its kind to focus exclusively on health disparities in communities of color and provide print, broadcast and digital journalists with tools to effectively report on the effects of the Affordable Care Act on underserved communities. Journalists and media professionals will leave with resources to inform and empower readers, viewers and listeners to action.

The NABJ Media Institute on Health has garnered national headlines and the attention of newsmakers for bringing awareness to health disparities and inequities in health care. Topics at this year’s conference will include a primer on the Affordable Care Act, discussion of the ACA from the perspectives of medical providers, mobile health applications, black women’s health, caregiving, and minority representation in clinical trials. Previous conferences have addressed HIV/AIDS, mental health, childhood obesity and infant mortality.
