On Friday, NABJ and the Houston Chapter of NABJ will host a roundtable with Houston news executives. On Saturday, The NABJ Media Institute and HABJ present a special conversation with WFAA traffic reporter Demetria Obilor and a social media training. Obilor was thrust in the national spotlight after being criticized by a viewer on social media. "When You Become the News" is a conversation with Obilor how to tell the story when you are the story. A second panel titled, "Dodging the Fire, Containing the Fury," will cover how journalists must work to balance social media engagement, professionalism and objectivity in the social media age.
