FAQs

For two decades, NABJ has been supporting its student members and the future of journalism by offering internships and scholarships and the chance to cover our annual convention through our newspaper, radio, television and online student projects.

These former students affectionally call themselves "NABJ Babies" because they believe the association "raised" them as they started their careers. More than 500 men and women have had NABJ internships, scholarships or worked on a student project at least one summer.

Once again, NABJ will sponsor four student projects during its 30th Anniversary Convention and Career Fair, Aug. 3-7, in Atlanta. These projects include:

  • NABJ-TV, a student-produced nightly half-hour newscast.
  • The NABJ Monitor, a daily convention newspaper.
  • NABJ Radio, a student-produced radio news program.
  • NABJ Online, the NABJ convention Web site.

All NABJ student members majoring in broadcast journalism, communications, television production, print journalism, or who are pursuing a career in broadcast journalism, print journalism, or new media journalism may apply to participate in this year's student projects.

Space is limited. NABJ interns and scholarship winners must apply to participate and applications will be reviewed. Scholarship and internship winners are no longer automatically guaranteed a space on the projects.

  • Student Application
  • Professional Application

Typically, student project participants arrive at the convention days in advance.

For more information about this program, call the NABJ national office at (301) 445-7100.
