NABJ Chapter Grants

NABJ bestows financial awards of up to $500 to student and professional chapters to encourage programs that will benefit local members and sustain NABJ's mission of community outreach. The next deadlines are October 1 and February 15. Winners are announced within 60 days of the deadlines.

  • Jackson State University Association of Black Journalists - $500 Development of a Jackson area high school press association.

  • Pittsburgh Black Media Federation - $500 Graphic design training workshop for up to 15 high school students.

  • Birmingham Association of Black Journalists - $500 Startup of a new chapter and journalism community newsletter.

  • University of Cincinnati Association of Black Journalists - $500 The Muse celebration of creativity and excellence for black journalists.
