Fisher partnered with NABJ to establish a scholarship in memory of their
daughter Allison, who lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 28. Allison’s journalism career included
positions at BET, PBS, Voice of America, and Channel One News. To learn more about the Allison E. Fisher Memorial

Specific Application Requirements:
- Must major in journalism or a communications-related discipline
- G.P.A. requirement: 3.0 or higher
- Essay topic: "What are the top three (3) reasons you would like to pursue a career in journalism and what do you hope your legacy as a journalist will be?" (1,000 - 2,000 words)
- Must demonstrate a record of community service
