Region III Achievers Award
This year, NABJ Region III will recognize a legendary black journalist who has made outstanding contributions to the media industry in Region III. (AL, FL, GA, M6S, NC, SC, TN) The NABJ Region III planning team approves nominations. The winner will be given the award at the NABJ Region III Awards Luncheon Saturday, March 9, 2013 in Charlotte, NC at Johnson C. Smith University. Nomination Deadline: Must be received by midnight Friday, February 22, 2013
Nomination Criteria: - Nominees must be current, former or retired media professionals, full-time
freelance and/or working journalists, which includes reporters, editors, photographers, newsroom managers, etc., who produce, gather, and disseminate news for newspapers, magazines, television, radio stations, wire services, and/or digital media.
- Candidates must have worked in the media profession for a minimum of
15 years. - Candidates must have demonstrated distinguished service to the media
profession and made extraordinary contributions to their communities.
Completed Nominations include: - Write an essay why you think your nominee is deserving of this award.
- A minimum of three letters of support, including nomination statement,
attesting to the candidate's accomplishments.
- Other relevant documentation(prefer links to supporting documents),
including clips, tapes, photographs, disc drives and other work samples, may be included in the nomination packet.
